Preservation and recovery of nature in Peneda-Gerês National Park: a remarkable act of environmental solidarity
Peneda-Gerês National Park (PNPG) has become the epicenter of environmental solidarity in a notable tree-planting initiative, where the community came together to actively contribute to the preservation of the local ecosystem. Organized by Extreme Peneda Xurés – EPX, approximately 50 participants gathered in Lamas de Mouro, forming a group committed to nature conservation. Over 200 trees, including 150 Birches and 58 Pyrenean Oaks, were kindly offered by Normadbike – Association, a non-profit entity, and provided by ICNF (Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests).
The event aimed not only at the preservation and recovery of nature but also at promoting environmental awareness, with experts explaining to participants the careful selection of species and location.
This remarkable initiative highlights the collective commitment to protect the natural heritage of PNPG for a more sustainable and ecologically conscious future.
